Casela Park

Those who visit Mauritius should definitely put the Casela Park on their to-do list. This park is located near Flic en Flac on the west coast of the island and captivates with unique experiences. In the period from 9 to 17 o'clock different attractions can be admired here on 250 hectares. The entrance fee includes, for example, a safari tour that lets you experience zebras, ostriches, giraffes, camels and other African wild animals up close. In addition, monkeys and various birds can be admired, including a toboggan run and a giant slide as well as a 3D and 4D cinema. The entrance fee for online bookings is 520 Rupees (approx. 14 Euros) for children between 3-12 years and 770 Rupees (approx. 20 Euros) for adults.

Exclusive offers

In addition to the inclusive offers, other attractions can be booked on the Casela Park website. If you don't want to make a safari in a bus, you can book a quad tour to be as close to the animals as possible. The Big Cats Safari offers a guided tour through the wildcat area, which is also home to a white tiger. By interacting with giraffes, children can feed giraffes and interact with lions and cheetahs to pet the animals and be close to them as never before. Other adventure activities include Canyon Swing, Zip Lining and Nepalese Bridge. A bus will pick you up and take you to a nearby mountain. There an experienced team instructs you in the attractions and guides you through the activities.

Cheetah Interaction

For 720 Rupees (approx. 19 Euros) the unique possibility is offered to stroke a cheetah. First a short safety instruction takes place and then it goes in small groups into the wildcat enclosure. Several employees of the Casela park make sure that nobody is hurt here. For cat lovers this activity is to be recommended absolutely. If you are lucky, the cheetah will start purring. Quite often he even wants to lick the arm or the hands of the one who caresses him. An unique adventure that really pays off. As with almost all activities, a photographer takes pictures that can be purchased later.

Canyon Swing

Adrenalin junkies get their money's worth at Canyon Swing. For 400 Rupees (approx. 10 Euros) you get the possibility to swing on a wire rope over a 17 meter deep canyon. Overcoming the jump is rewarded with a beautiful view over the vegetation, steep rock walls and the small river at the bottom of the canyon. A must for all adventurers.

Zip-Lining

The Zip-Lining is less adrenalin-laden than the Canyon Swing, but offers a comparably unique view. Over a distance of 400 metres, you slide along the canyon, strapped to a wire rope, and can enjoy Mauritius from a bird's eye view. For young and old, it is a wonderful activity and an unforgettable experience.

Conclusion

Casela Park is rightly considered one of the most beautiful attractions in Mauritius. Those who have the possibility should definitely plan a day there. For all age groups something is offered, the petting zoo will amaze also the smallest ones and in order to have a rest, one can eat in the restaurant and drink a cocktail in a relaxed way. Different souvenir-shops make it possible to acquire unique souvenirs, as for example hand-painted bowls from ostrich eggs, silver chains in lion form or typical mauritian rum. Absolutely recommendable and an unforgettable adventure.
